It Began with a Question
What does it mean to be a good ancestor?
The Guardian Project grew from a deeply personal reflection: What kind of world will our children and grandchildren inherit, and what are we willing to do today to help create a future in which all living things can thrive?
That question inspired The Guardian Project, a global movement committed to making and keeping Five Promises to the Future, turning those promises into meaningful action, and inspiring others to join us in becoming good ancestors.
Today, we are young people and adults, educators and schools, organizations and communities connected by the Five Promises and a shared commitment to meaningful action.

The Guardian Project began with a small group of educators and leaders united by one compelling question:
What can we give to the future?
As the movement grows, we are building the leadership, relationships, and capacity needed to serve more schools, organizations, young people, and communities around the world.

Our Story
FORMING OUR BOARD
We are forming a diverse, volunteer Board of Directors to help guide The Guardian Project into its next chapter.
Board members will bring wisdom, relationships, resources, and global perspectives to strengthen the movement, support its long-term sustainability, and help the Five Promises reach more communities around the world.
LOOKING AHEAD
As The Guardian Project grows, more people and communities worldwide will make the Five Promises, share their actions, and inspire others to join.
Our next chapter includes building the leadership and operational capacity needed to support Guardians worldwide, expand Guardian Gatherings, share stories of the Five Promises in action, and connect people and organizations committed to serving the future.
We also envision a global network of ambassadors who will carry the movement into new communities, build relationships, and help more people make and keep the Five Promises.
As our Board, partnerships, and resources grow, our next goal is to secure the support needed to appoint an Executive Director and create a small professional staff.
